20 years ago, canon starting producing their EOS SLR Cameras. and now, 20 years later, they have managed to ship 30 million EOS SLRs and, in the last 8 years, another 10 million EOS DSLRs. Thats impressive! Fair play Canon, and congratulations!
The guys and girls over at DigitalCameraInfo.com have just posted a review of the Canon EOS 1D Mark III. This is one hell of a camera, shooting at 10 frames a second! This is one sweet camera. Note: be careful on their site. they have those inbetween page ads, which are just annoying, and nearly made me decide not to post this link, but because its this camera, I have to post it. By the way, this is a different camera to the 1D-s Mark III. Thats the full frame, 21.1 MP camera, which shoots at 5FPS. this is the 10mp camera, shooing at 10fps, but not so full frame. Still sweet!
More rumors, but considering the last one i posted about the 40D actually came true, we see what happens here. Nikon may announce 2 new cameras tomorrow: a D3 and a D300. Specs below. [Via Engadget]

Live view LCD
9fps in FF mode, 11fps in HSC mode (at 1.5 crop factor / DX size)
ISO 200 - 6400 with LO (ISO 100 equivalent), H1 and H2 (ISO 12800 / 25600, respectively)
51 point autofocus system (15 cross sensor)
D300
DX format 12 megapixel CMOS (supposedly possibly the same as the D2X)
Live view LCD

ISO 200 - 3200 with LO (ISO 100 equivalent), H1 (ISO 6400)

12MP is a bit low for the high end (the 1Ds Mark III is now nearly double at 21), but 9FPS is good… [update] Its Official
After Amazon outing the 1Ds Mark III and 40D yesterday, Canon has made them Official. The 1Ds Mark III website is here, and the 40D site is here. There are also some more photos:
Engadget has some sketchy info about a potential Canon 40D. this would be replacement to the 30D, or with the way canon seem to do things, the 20D. I think they like having 2 cameras in a particular segment: for example, the 400D and 350D in the prosumer range, then the 20 and 30D in the Semi Pro Range, and then there are a few 1Ds (depends on if you want speed or 16MP photos…). Anyway, salt to be used as instructed…
Rob Galbraith has a review of the new Canon 1D Mark III. this is the fast one, which does 10 frames per second for something like 13 seconds. pretty impressive. definatly an impressive camera, but me thinks a bit over the top for what i want (Now, a 5D, thats different! I Want!
Photocritic has a post about Prime lenses, entitled “you need a prime lens“. This is interesting, because i am buying one of these in the next week or so. I got to play with one of these lenses, a Canon F1.8 50mm prime lens and they are very fast and nice to use. bk_keywords:camera
